The sky of Brasilia

The sky of Brasília is something incrustated in our heart and collective mind. Astronomers recognize that the blue of the sky is more intense, due to low humidity most of the year. Everyday, the sunset is like a beautiful colorful oil painting in van Gogh’s style, a degradé of red, blue, orange, yellow gold, pink and amaranthine. Even when rain comes and announces itself and when dark clouds appear in the horizon, it takes an argentous tone mingled with brilliant white and luminous gray background sparkled with lustrous black and silver strips and spots. In Brasília we can see the the dome of the sky everywhere, we don’t have to move up our heads to see it, all we need to do is to look straight ahead. We feel like drops of color inks dropped down from the painting above, every sunset, every sunrise. In the night, we see the diamantine stars and the yellow moon rising without having to turn off the lights of the city, so wide is the free space surrounding us. The moon, gorgeous, unique, reigns over the city lights when once a month we celebrate her fullness by moon-walking on the city park. The moon and the sun, every night and every day, wish us good dreams and shed their cosmic art on us. It is so much love in the firmament...
